Permission system for the installation of specified facilities has been adopted based on the regulation of Article 5 and 8 in the Law Concerning Special Measures For Conservation Of The Environment Of The Seto Inland Sea. Installation of 340 facilities and modification of 419 facilities were permitted in 1996 as shown in Table 7-3. Classification of the facilities in respect of discharging flow rate from the specified industries is shown in table 7-4.
